Competition Council organizes the event “Competition in essential sectors of the Romanian economy” on 21st of October, at Pullman Hotel World Trade Center, New York auditorium. On this occasion, Competition Council launches for public debate its Report “The Romanian competition environment – developments in essential sectors”.  

The event is structured in two interactive sessions entitled: 1) Looking ahead at competition policy in the context of the sectoral developments at EU level and 2) Screening devices for measuring the degree of competition in various sensitive economic sectors.

The event will benefit from the extraordinary participation of the Competition Commissioner and Vice-president of the European Commission, Mr. Joaquín Almunia. In addition, prestigious competition professors and officials will participate as lecturers or guests of honour in the event.

For the good organization of the event, please take note that the access in the New York auditorium, the venue of the event has to be done until 9:45 a.m.

Romanian Competition Council and the American Chamber of Commerce in Romanian (AmCham Romania) organize in partnership a Workshop on Legal aspects and Economics of Vertical Restraints on October 20, 2011, at Pullman Hotel World Trade Center, Mexico-Seoul Room.

The workshop will benefit from the participation of outstanding speakers, such as Prof. William E. Kovacic (George Washington University, USA), Mr. Greg Langus (CRA), Prof. Dr. Wernhard Möschel (Tübingen University, Germany), Mr. Ian Peter van der Veer (RBB Economics) and Mr. David Matthew (NERA Economic Consulting).
